The Miranda Family
Dear Mr. Stone,
We have a maternal grandmother, Jessica Miranda, who is adopting her twin, four year old grandchildren. She also has legal guardianship of her eight year old grandson who is half-brother to the twins. At this time eviction proceedings have begun and Jessica has been told by her landlord that she needs to leave. Jessica had made repairs to the single family house in order to bring it up to code to meet the Departments safety standards. The landlord refused to reimburse Jessica and refused to renew the lease as well, now forcing Jessica and the three children to be homeless.
The Department is attempting to help Jessica in every possible way but we are not able to help with funding relocation. If Jessica cannot locate suitable housing soon, the children may not be able to continue at their
current schools. More importantly, without housing, Jessica may have to put the children into the foster care system and they would most likely be split up and sent to different homes.
This is a very sad and difficult situation for Jessica who fought long and hard to have her grandchildren placed with her since their removal from her daughter who could not care for them. The children have done very well and continue to thrive with Jessica’s love and patience. Any help that the Stone Adoption Fund can provide would be greatly appreciated.

We immediately went to visit Jessica and expedited her request. The trustees of the Stone Adoption Fund approved a grant to help Jessica find appropriate housing and keep her family intact.

Stone Family Adoption
Annual Appeal
The Stone Family Adoption Assistance Fund, since its inception in 2007, has grown from a memorial concept to an organization that assists numerous families every year. It is our mission to provide financial assistance to families wishing to adopt and to families that have incurred economic hardship through the adoption of special needs or foster care children.
We truly appreciate what you, our loyal and dedicated donors, have done so far. It is the collective effort of generous people like you that has enabled us to help deserving families you read about in our newsletter. We understand that there are many charities to donate to and we are especially grateful that you feel strongly enough about our mission to choose to support us.
We would like to ask you to join us as we continue to reach out to the families in need. As the awareness and reputation of our fund grows in the adoptive community, there are more and more families that come to us for assistance. Your support will allow us to carry forward as we help to build adoptive families.
